two thousand schools and public libraries, thanks, in large part to Ferrel\'s
generosity and commitment to education.

In addition to being an award winning poet, Ferrel is a Member of Laborers\' Union
Local #309 in Rock Island. He is also a real estate investor and an independent
environmental researcher.
